Chelerythrine is an isoquinoline alkaloid derived from the roots and leaves of the Ruticaceae Toddalia asiatica (L.)Lam., from the rooted whole grass of Papaveraceae Juss. Chelidonium majus and from the fruit pod of Macleaya cordata (Willd.) R. Br..
